Master Cup
In 1976, member Luis Garcia, who was then the president of Wrigley Philippines, Inc. sponsored trophies for the contest year. Dubbed the ‘Wrigley Cup’, three large silver trophies were given to the top winners. The first placer was conferred with the grandiose title of the ‘Master Photographer of the Year’. This tradition has been carried on till the present day.
Now called the ‘Masters Cup’ competition, the club continues the tradition of holding monthly photo contests judged during the monthly meetings. By November of each year, the Master Photographer winner is declared. Formal awarding is held during the Club’s Annual Christmas Party on December.
In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic brought new challenges in holding physical meetings and photo contests. The club moved from the traditional print competitions to online digital contests and judging. Thanks to technology, the club continues to survive and flourish as we get closer to our centennial anniversary in 2028.
