For Raoul Littaua and Raymund Sto. Domingo: A Deliverance!
Starting off very early and unable to join any member’s convoy, Raoul Littaua did something we don’t normally see him do. He braved a drive for 9 hours in the dark… and alone. He ended up taking the route through the forest instead of Pantabangan, including 3 water crossings. His 24 hours deliverance in Baler did pay off big time though. He won Best Picture of the OTS and 3rd place for OTS Photographer of the Month (June). Master Photographer Raymund Sto. Domingo (joined 1986) also did something he hasn’t done in over a decade. The gentleman from Dagupan joined this OTS to see Baler (his first time) for the fun of it and to join his buddies in the Club. But when he decided to join the competition (on the last minute), he won 2nd place for OTS Photo of the Month and 1st place for OTS Photographer of the Month. His winning entry is typical of his winning style and formula from the 1990’s, which we can still learn from. This should inspire him to continue submitting entries like buddy Ruben Asedillo. Welcome back Master Raymund! One more OTS to go!
Raffy Santos‘ winning shot won 3rd best picture and he is also 3rd place for the top Photographer of the Month title. He used a Russian Zenitar 16mm manual lens he bought eight years ago and used it for the first time in this OTS. Setting was f8 with focusing at infinity hyper focally. Who knows what else he has and planning to test…
Photojournalist Sonny Yabao, Art Director Nowell Trinidad and Painter/Sculptor Nemi Miranda reflected their art form in their choices froma variety of compositions showing the diversity of picturesque Baler that was likened to Batanes, Pagudpud and Ilocos Norte with a touch of Pagsanjan. This will not be the last OTS in Baler and we will wait until the new road finishes and cut down travel time by 2 hours.
