November ends the years’ photo competition as the Photo of the Year judging concludes.  This year, our runaway winner E. Billy Mondonedo sits comfortably as he awaits to be crowned 2010 Mastercup Champion next month, leading the pack with more than 4 points.  Not even a sweep of all the remaining CP and OTS photos of the year by second and third placer Leo Riingen and Raffy Santos can overtake the lead.  Interesting though will be that tight battle for second with a single win from any of the two will affect their rankings.

Flashback November 1995.  Viewfinder headlines the winner of the Color Slide photo of the year entitled “Bottles Dominate Color Slide Finals”.

Three photos of the “Bottle” entries won photo of the year awards… “proof of the photographer’s consistently outstanding graphic imagery” according to Jun Javelosa, first place winner of the above photo with the goldfish, also the writer of the article.

Flashback April 2008.  The Viewfinder featured the theme “Bottle” again for the March 2008 monthly competition.

Notice anything familiar about the entries?  One of three third placer for month was from Raffy Santos sporting the same goldfish concept!   A coincident?  Or simply a source of inspiration?

Incidentally, on the same year, another “Bottle” entry made it to the Photo of the year award.
